Overview and learning objectives of chapter 6

With knowledge of the basic structure and some significant types of responsibility, one is already in a good position to analyse who specific occurrences of events or situations should be attributed to. It should be indisputable that a tailings dam failure leading to the release of partially toxic materials into the environment is viewed negatively. The responsible geotechnical engineers could be held responsible for the damage and held accountable accordingly. Here is a relatively clear allocation of responsibilities and accountability. The question of whether the entire group or one or more individuals should be held responsible in a particular way can also be largely examined and analysed using the basic principles of responsibility.
